Right now I'm most excited about getting some proper 360 controls into the game. I'd like to be able to play it split-screen with my buddies again.
So that's what I'm working on, want to make the controls kind of like in halo, left joystick to move, right to look around. Using the wxJoystick library, I like it!

Oooooh, playing Trine gave me a good idea for the 2D joystick controls too , working on them now....

Grrrr...apparently wxJoystick doesn't support processing both the right trigger and the left trigger at the same time. I wanted to have one for jump and the other for shoot, but looks like that's impossible. Will just have to use a shoulder button to shoot then, oh well.

Alright, 360 controls more or less there, although there are still some issues in playing in split screen mode I need to work out. I'll try to get it into the next update though.

Was just playing the game with the new controls, some things I thought would be nice to add later -a smoother camera with a little leeway when the player moves -target reticule turns red when over an enemy, slows turret movement down -slow turret turning at first, but speeds up when player holds down the joystick longer -camera zooms instantly in, slowly out

Hey, so I made a few small tweaks to the game
-hud should display better in split screen -hovers sounds for both players now -tweaked the camera a little to see through walls less -various bug fixes for split screen modes
Overall, split screen play should be a lot better now!

Hey Rusty, now that 2-player I think is there more or less. I am currently working to improve the editor. Looking to add multiple select on platforms, useful for moving groups and copy and pasting large chunks.

Yea it's ready, though I realized. It's basically a hack :/ Oh well, I give it to you tomorrow.

Man does it feel good to be programming again. Well Rusty, you'll be happy to know that I'm adding some more enemies in the next update to the game, as well as a few bug fixes.
First the bug fixes -fixed camera zooming in on non collision platforms -fixed orientation when entering level with direction type 4 -fixed occasional crashes when deleting platforms in the editor
New Enemies -superSpikes.obj - name a spike that and they do 3 damage and can't be killed -New Enemy Type! - mines! - mines will explode on contact! there will be two type initially -normal "bomb_droid.obj" will do 2 damage but have only 1 health -"waterMine.obj" will do 4 damage and be invincible to shots

I just read this AFTER posting about camera controls. So I'm very glad to read this. For me the camera control issue only hurts really badly when I'm trying to negotiate some of the jumps, when in third person mode.

I think I'm going to be switching between working on new weapons/enemies, and a new menu and multiplayer. I know people don't seem to want multiplayer, so it would be more for me and a couple friends that do want it.
To Desktorp, yea I have an idea of what you might be referring to. I've got an idea to help out with the camera.
