Doesn't work on mine either have tried both Ubuntu (10.10) and Mandriva (2010.2). The demo works fine but version 1.15 just freezes... When New Game is selected the words left 2 appear and the screen goes black!
Another thing I find annoying is that on the demo the Save Game option doesn't work so I can never save my position and it takes me ages to get to were I finished before!

Ah, thanks for letting me know. So the save issue as intended. Saving always takes you back to the beginning of the world, and there is only one world in the demo.
About the full version, do you have any gamepads plugged into the controller when the game freezes? Just trying to work through this, thanks.

I removed my Joystick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) from the USB port and it works!! ...Thanks Brandon! :-D
P.S. Please let me know when you come up with a patch so I don't have to keep removing my joystick from its port!

Just thought i'ld also mention (you prob. already know!) but if you die in water (or out but land in water not sure) you come back in a crashed form and have to restart the game! as even if you put new game the car looks crashed and cant be moved!
I think there should also be more save game areas I got quite far in the 1st world and it just all of a sudden went back to the start of the world again I don't think I even died! imo more areas are needed so you can come back closer to were you left off!

The issue you raise about being sent back to the beginning of the world without dying is quite serious if it's true. This is the first time I've heard about that, but it's certainly not intended.
As to the checkpoints, the game as a whole is kind of a throwback to the challenging old school games of the 80's and 90's. The level of difficulty and even frustration is intended (good or bad as it may be for our sales). Though we are considering making the first few levels easier.
The issue about coming back in crashed form. I'm hoping that's the known bug triggered when you pick up a health powerup shortly after dying. That will be fixed in the next update.
As to the joystick, yes I recently did some more testing today and saw that it's true. Joystick input is seriously broken on linux, I'm sorry about that :/ I'll definitely fix that in the next patch.

And to Jose's problem. I'm removing the libalut dependency in the next update. Maybe it will fix the arch problem? Here's hoping...

So Jose, if you still check these boards. Another forum member discovered that the game runs okay if you run it as a root user. Not sure if it would work as a sudo too, maybe. Anyway, hope that helps. And once I get a chance, I'll see if I can figure out why on earth the game wants root permissions.

Yea I remember you Jamie, consider it done. Yes, the Joystick issue has been resolved so long as you don't select the joystick controls in the menu.

Yea....to be honest I just don't think it's going to happen. I appreciate the help you've given us in debugging the game. We might fix the engine eventually, but it's just not a priority right now.
We're recommending Linux users try the demo out before purchasing the full game.
If you change your mind about the refund let me know at onionman77@gmail.com
One suggestion someone thought of was that if you would still like to play the game, you could try running the Windows version in wine. Might run a little slow but it should work.

Hey Jose,
So I tried to install Arch-32 to check out your problem, I couldn't even get to a graphical interface, so I'm giving up on that. I'm currently looking for another distro that also fails in 32-bit and having trouble.
